But was the mermaid real or a hoax?
In a 1977 article in the journal of western folklore, steven c. Barnum was once described as the man who 'invented showbusiness'. Throughout his life, barnum did what he could to attract the masses and earn a profit. Barnum started out showing simple stuff such as joice heth (the oldest woman on earth, actually using bright posters, exaggerated notices, brass bands and parades, barnum became known for his method of advertising these incredible exhibits.
